For more than 35 years, I have been winning catastrophic personal injury cases throughout California and the United States. I have successfully represented people severely injured by defective products including airplanes, motor vehicles, construction equipment, consumer products, prescription drugs, and recreational vehicles such as ATVs and motorcycles. I have achieved record verdicts and settlements in brain damage, burn, paralysis and death cases involving highway design against the State of California.
A former President of the San Francisco and Western Trial Lawyers Associations, I have represented victims of mass disasters such as the Cypress Structure collapse; the crash of an airplane into the Sun Valley Mall; the Bay View-Hunter's Point industrial explosion; and toxic pollution of the Crazy Horse Land Fill in Salinas.
I received my B.A. from the College of William and Mary in 1969 and, after graduating from Boston University Law School in 1972, I worked as an editor for the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA). I have been practicing law in Northern California for more than 35 years. I am a member of the Bar in California and Massachusetts.
Associations include: Consumer Attorneys of California of which I am a member of the Board of Governors, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and a former member of the Board of Governors; former president of Western Trial Lawyers Association and the San Francisco Bar Associations; member of the San Francisco Bar Association and San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association; Attorneys Information Exchange Group.
